ZEN JAPANESE RESTAURANT @ SUNWAY PYRAMID

Took my grandson to the Sunway Lagoon and after a tiring day decided to pamper ourselves with a decent Japanese meal but must at the same time will not put a deep hole to my hubby's wallet.

Found this quaintly decorated Japanese restaurant next to the Sunway Pyramid Tower
The palce was packed with the pre-holiday crowd. Ordered 4 bento sets and 1 ramen. The food came soon enough and the first thought is I may have over ordered. My grandson is only 7 years old and although I can rely on my "lai chai" to finish any excesses but the food this time came in quite big portions. The food is fresh and we enjoyed it greatly. However, my hubby was complaining that the sushi rice disintegrate too easily. I think the Manager should train his team to be more proactive. I asked for the wasabi and then I need to ask for the soy sauce to go with it. Likewise the tempura sauce came without the usual granulated white radish. I asked for the radish and I was given maybe a teaspoonful. My hubby who also have tempura had to asked for the same agin. I think besides the good food, the next best thing is this ever smiling waiter who goes around filling up those cups with green tea. The hearty meal cost only RM198 after the 10% discount enjoyed by Sunway managemeent staff. No discounts for credit card though.

For those who wish to have a good Japanese meal minus that hefty bill should visit this outlet.

Bobalicious Smoothies

Went Tropicana Mall again to explore the numerous shops that I missed earlier. Feeling thirsty but not willing to increase my calories, I decided to look around for something healthy to quench my thirst. Viola, found a standalone store with very bright and colourful pictures of fruits and an equally outrageous name as well - "Bobalicious".
The counter girl was very helpful and I chose a concoction of the avocado fruit, mango and bananas.  A regular size cost RM11.90 and there is no service charge. Of course patrons are encourgaed to tip the lovely ladies who prepeared the smoothies for you.
The smoothies taste just fabulicious (looks familiar?) It is not too sweet compared with others, the fresh fruits fragance reinvigorates you and you actually get to feel the seeds of the bananas and most important of all you don't get that guilty feeling about your health being compromised.

Heard they are running a promotion for their smoothies from 5th September 2011 to 5th October 2011 at RM5.90. I think it is a great opportunity to give it a try. Call them to confirm about the promotion.

The stall is located at the 1st floor of Tropicana Mall and their website http://www.bobalicious.com.my/

VIVO-Original, Vibrant, indulgence, vivacious

Have not been to Tropicana City, Damansara and decided to check out that place with my hubby. While there wanted to have western food for dinner. Found this place that has a comfortable ambience and the menu is simple. I ordered the Tropical BBQ Chicken Chop (Set 2) ($15.90) and Iced lemon tea ($4.90); my hubby ordered their 7" Chicken BBQ Pizza (Set5) ($12.90) and also their Seafood Spaghetti Aglio Olio (Set 6) ($18.80). Their set meal came with a complimentary mushroom soup. Yes, the 2 of us have  3 bowls of soup and also 3 different set of food. OK, we are big eaters. The chicken chop meat was sweet and tender not the usual dry and chewy type. The spaghetti was done real good with the sweet herbal scent that was sprinkled on it. The pizza did not disappoint as its texture was soft and the ingredients and the sauces did not have the normal overwhelming taste. Even the iced lemon tea came in a long glass with a big slice of lemon in it. I think the presentation would be better if the lemon is put at the lip of the glass. The service is fast and the manager was attentive to details. Like their managers, the service team is also constantly moving about to ensure their patrons are comfortable and that they get all their food as ordered. The total bill came to $58.30 with 10% service charge. My hubby counted $60 and gave it to the manager. He went to the counter and came back with a small gift, to be exact it is a box of note pad (the box design itself looks great, check it out) and he also said that my hubby overpaid him, forgive his declining eyesight, LOL. How's that for honesty. Patrons were still coming in when we were there at about 8.20pm and left about 9.00pm. Great place, great food and reasonably priced. Check their website at http://www.vivopizza.com/ . They have branches at Times Square, The Curve, Jusco Bukit Tinggi, Jusco Tebrau City and Singapore - Plaza Pelangi, Sutera Mall, City Square, Central Singapore Riverside.
